Llangland

May 1, 2009

Just a quick one. I came across this photo from a few weeks ago when I was down at Llangland beach, Gower. The day was absolutely beautiful and the fact it was out of season meant we had the place almost to ourselves. Might try and get down there again next week, weather permitting!

Firstly I must apologise for not updating on here for the past month! Its been absolutely crazy trying to get new things in place for the new season and I have been slack in not updating on here but I promise I will endeavor to keep a constant flow of new posts coming for the rest of the year!!

Now onto a brighter note…
Last week I had the chance of a week off so me and Beki went down to Somerset and had a great 5 days camping near Bridgwater. It was so nice to just get out and have a break from the office and we had a fantastic time, and we were very lucky with the weather too!
The area was really nice to see again as I used to stay down there years ago and I think I can safely say we’ll be going back in a few months time…

Here are just a few shots from our week…more updates coming soon!!

To do something a bit different this year I took the other half up to the Heights of Abraham in Matlock Bath and I must say it will definitely be something we’ll be doing again! Up over 900feet above sea level the snow was still lingering so the views were sublime… Here’s just a couple of shots from at the top of the Heights and one from in the caverns…

A catch up…

February 5, 2009

Firstly please let me apologise for the lack of posting in the last month – it’s been manic with one thing and another!! I concluded the month of January with a week away in Gran Canaria with my dad from Barry James which was a very much needed ‘re-charge’ of the old batteries and we are now completely full steam ahead into 2009!
The photos below were from a few weeks before when I was down at the South Gower at Port Eynon – what a gorgeous place that is… A new wedding post will be following shortly, please enjoy…

Swansea

January 3, 2009

A very special person to me moved to Swansea to study her degree at Swansea University in September and I’ve been lucky enough to go and visit on occasion during the last 3 months. Below are a few photos from when I’ve been down including little notes about each one…
All of these shots were taken on my new camera the LX-3…which is awesome!!

This was my first visit to Swansea to beach…and its safe to say I’m hooked!

Swansea Observatory

We camped at Three Cliffs Bay on my birthday weekend and had a great time – and what a view to wake up to aswell! Understandably as soon as it opens again at easter we’ll be back!!

Crompton House

January 1, 2009

After what was a busy July it was nice to have a totally different project to do – photographing a B&B on Lake Road Windermere to produce a new website for the owners…
It all came from my parents staying with Eddie at Crompton House when they went up there earlier in the year. As they got talking the opportunity for the trip came up and as soon as I had a break for a few days I set off for Windermere on the 28th July for 3 days. It was great to get back up to the lakes, one of my favourite places, and spend a few days walking and obviously enjoy a few real ales too!!
The B&B is actually next door to a place me and my father have stayed on numerous occasions but I have to say, we will all ONLY be using Eddie and Sue’s place in future…
The weather wasn’t perfect by any stretch of the imagination, but when I’m in the lakes I really don’t care!
Below are a few of the shots I took for the website, which is now live and can be seen at http://cromptonhouse.com If you find yourselves heading to the lakes I would definitely give Eddie and Sue a visit – the value for money is fantastic and the rooms are great too – and if you like a bit of light entertainment at breakfast (which Sue does a great job cooking I have to say!!) Eddies tricks and puzzles will definitely keep you occupied!!
I’m hoping to get back up in February so I will be posting an update soon…

So its not all weddings…

January 1, 2009

Although weddings are the backbone of our business and what I love doing, occasionally commercial work and other projects come along…and I definitely enjoy doing something different on occasion!
Working for the SPAR group through A.F.Blakemores is always good and having covered their national conference for the past two years the latest SRS08 magazine definitely looks impressive…I will post a pdf here soon!
However, in the meantime heres a few commercial shots of the warehouses I shot back in June…

Another project I get to update on occasion is band photography for a local band, Mezzotonic.
The drummer of the band is an old friend of mine and it is great to get to photograph them during the year when I can get to their gigs…
Here are a few shots from the MonoBar and the Battle of the Bands at Robin2…
