Archive for June, 2009

Claire and Andy have now chosen their photos for their album and whilst it is being made in Italy I thought I would share a few more of my favourites from their day.
I had a great time photographing their wedding at Wollaston Free Church, and the novelty of having an elevated position to work from during the ceremony, made a nice change from which to record the ceremony. Although the weather wasn’t kind to us on the day, we managed to get a fantastic story and I personally can’t wait to put everything together in the album to give to Claire and Andy.
However, as promised, here are a few more favourites from the day, along with a slideshow at the bottom…enjoy.

Wollaston Free Church

Nice motor to arrive in...

A Beautiful Beauford from Crem-de-la-Crem...but definitely rather wet!

Despite the weather everything was perfect!

Elegantly Disembarking her Chariot

I was very grateful of a nice large porch area from which to photograph the arrival shots

Our Bride Arriving

The First Look

A lovely light building

I love the emotion on this one...

The exchange of rings

I love this angle of the car

Simple but fantastic...

I don't think we were going to be doing many shots outside this day!!

Simplistic but fantastic...

The Restaurant

I love details at times...

Cake Shot

A Gorgeous Landing to Work With

I think it's safe to say this is one of Claire's favourites

But I think this one is mine :o)

It's always nice to finish in bed

A Beautiful Ending...

Tara and Dan

June 21, 2009

Yesterday I had the pleasure of photographing a lovely wedding that took me back to St James’ Church, Acton Trussell – which some of you may remember I last photographed on the 30th December 2008 (which is here!) and I was very very happy to see a distinct lack of scaffolding when I arrived!! The church has been undergoing some renovation work over the start of this year but thankfully, just-in-time for Tara and Dan, the offending item’s were removed…
The reception was at a venue I have had the equal pleasure of working at a number of times over the years from the first wedding held there under the current ownership in 2005 – Hadley Park. Hadley is a great venue with so much going for it, and after having not photographed a wedding there since the Summer of 2006, it was very nice to be back!!

Saturday 20th June was a beautiful day and the weather thankfully remained with us, with the only discerning spots of rain falling whilst travelling from the church to the reception. I truly had a great time recording Tara and Dan’s special day and I can’t wait to show them all the photos. In the meantime, here are a few to whet your appetite…

St James' Church, Acton Trussell

Such a gorgeous traditional church

Hadley Park House

The Boys!

The Girls looked particularly stunning!

I love the flags someone had gone to the trouble of preparing!! Fab:

The Paparazzi!!

I Love this walkway to the church...

I love using the D3 inside in low light...it's sublime!!

Classic – and the colour shot that preceeds it for the album is even better!!!

Claire and Andy

June 6, 2009

Today I had the pleasure of photographing a fantastic wedding at Wollaston Free Church and the Ramada Hotel at Bewdley.
Claire and Andy booked me many months ago in early 2007 to photograph their wedding and although the weather wasnt with us today I certainly think we had a good time and captured a great set of photos too…
Here are just a couple of shots to whet your appetite…more will follow in a few days time when Claire and Matt Andy [ :o ( ] are back from Madeira…

What a great church

Very natural...and a lot of fun!!

Beautiful window light...

Hope you both have a fantastic time on honeymoon. Looking forward to seeing you both when I get back from a few days in the sun too!
The post-wedding ‘Shoot the Dress’ Session will be great fun!!!

AFBlakemore are the main distributor for SPAR Retail Stores across the UK serving over 300 stores throughout the Central Meridian region.
I have been fortunate enough to work for the company many times over the past few years and one of my favourite times of year has to be the SPAR Retail Show at the NEC, which as an annual event is a fantastic day and one I love covering.
Based at the NEC Metropole for the Tuesday for the Conference and Dinner Party then at the NEC Pavilion for the subsequent Tradeshow the following day it is a busy week, and with a turn-round time of 24 hours on the photos it is pleasantly demanding too!
The production of the show was again handled by the fantastic AirPlay  who really are a sublime organisation. The entertainment this year was from a legendary double-act – Cannon & Ball. To say they were on form is not an understatement and they certainly raised a response from the crowd! Following the comedy-duo were the ABBA tribute act, Voulez-Vou.

Below are a few of my favourite shots from the Conference day at the NEC Metropole and a slideshow of a few more below…

The Monarch Suite, NEC Metropole

The Spar AFB Group

With a host of speakers from industry professionals it is a very enlightening show to listen to as well as photograph

And this guy had only been in the job at Coca-Cola for 36hours before presenting a marvelous talk!!

The Stage although very different from last year was still stunning

A good use of foofing the flash was needed throughout the day

Classic!

I think Elwin wanted in on this one...

The Monarch Suite looked amazing at night

A nice balance of lighting here

Cannon & Ball

Always a good show...

This is one of my favourites from the whole day

Hilarious!!

Working in such a fantastic venue with a great crew and company is a true pleasure

Quality!!

Voulez-Vou!

As I said, a fantastic room!

The band certainly went down well...

And some people were definitely 'throwing some moves'!!!

A great act
